That’s truly shocking, what you just said about the Great Wall of Japan. Part of me would liek to carry out a survey with my colleagues, but the rest of me fears that if I did, I might become suicidal, so I think I shall have to refrain

Seriously, I had similar problems with people’s basic knowledge of the world.
“When you lived in Japan, did you see the Great Wall?”
“The Great Wall of China?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s in China, not Japan. Yes I’ve seen it. I lived in China, not Japan.”
“But the Great Wall of China is in Japan, isn’t it?”
I began to bang my head against the wall.

I thought it was Denmark where they spoke Dutch :p
